Her initial inspiration was shadows reflected on grass. Months later she came up with a technique that did not render the chosen object on the canvas as an image that was flat. The subject instead transforms into a reproduction of itself, where the surface becomes the carrier of it's personal interpretation by painting, particularly in the case of alive or perishable for example, like humans or fruit. Alexa Meade's painting style, that is a bit ephemeral in its nature, can be seen. The only work of Alexa's art that survives is the photo. Trompe l'oeil is achieved through the combination of two methods of photographing and painting. The result is two-dimensional flattened image. Meade is also able to integrate her painted models within the space of 3D that surrounds the models. Interaction between them and this created world is possible. This way, the line between photography and painting is dissolved.
